Samsung's new Galaxy Z Fold 7 might be the most exciting foldable phone in years. It looks better than ever, boasts a massive camera upgrade, and, for the first time in the series, it's thin enough to feel just like a regular slab-type phone when folded.
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is now available for pre-order globally until July 25. As usual, Samsung rewards early adopters with pre-order bonuses. However, they differ by market. Here's what Samsung USA has in store if you order the Galaxy Z Fold 7 early from the e-shop without a carrier deal.
First things first, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is technically available with 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB of storage, but as of this writing, you cannot pre-order the 256GB model.
That's because the 512GB variant costs exactly the same as the 256GB one, and pre-ordering the 256GB model instead of the 512GB one would have been a waste. So, for the duration of the pre-order period, Samsung doesn't even give you the option to make this error.
This free storage upgrade to 512GB is available in the USA throughout the pre-order period, after which, the 256GB will become available for $1,999 and the 512GB model will cost $2,199. For now, you can pre-order the 512GB Fold 7 for $1,999.
If you want to pre-order the 1TB Galaxy Z Fold 7, you won't get a free memory upgrade, but Samsung will cut you a $150 discount. The 1TB model is now $2,269 instead of $2,419.
Now, regardless of which storage variant you pick, you have two options regarding the trade-in program in the USA:
If you pick the no-trade-in option at the Samsung e-shop in the USA, you won't be able to apply the $300 discount on the Galaxy Z Fold 7 itself, but you will have the option of spending it on wearables and accessories. Examples include:
Lastly, if you will pre-order the Galaxy Z Fold 7, it's worth noting that you can buy the 256GB model from Samsung USA in all four color options, including Jetblack, Blue Shadow, Silver Shadow, and the online exclusive Mint.
However, if you pick the 1TB variant, you only get two color options: Jetblack and Blue Shadow. Plus, Samsung says the 1TB variant may ship later than July 25 — by August 19.
