SamMobile flew to New York for Galaxy Unpacked 2025, and we had our chance to spend some one-on-one time with Samsung's latest devices, including the Galaxy Z Fold 7. Here is a summary of our hands-on experience. Check out our YouTube video below for all you need to know.
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is one of the most ambitious Fold models ever made. It's the thinnest and lightest Fold, now equipped with larger screens. The main camera was upgraded, and Samsung also improved durability in several ways.
In our Galaxy Z Fold 7 hands-on video below, we take a tour of these latest design and hardware upgrades, ranging from the cameras to the displays and latest software features.
Samsung's new Fold ships with One UI 8, and the phone has a couple of new AI tools, such as Instant Audio Eraser and side-by-side Galaxy AI editing for photos. Gemini can also be summoned in a more convenient pop-up window.
When we experienced the Galaxy Z Fold 7 ourselves, one of the things that stood out was the fact that it feels much more like a regular slab-type phone when folded. Check it out below.
Although the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is a clear refinement of Samsung's Fold formula, some features have been discontinued. The new Galaxy Z Fold 7 doesn't have an Under-Display Camera, and S Pen support has also been axed.
However, the phone now has a new Ultra Thin Glass sheet that's 50% thicker, which improves the durability of the foldable display. The main screen is now supported by a titanium backplate, and because Samsung employed a new hinge design, the crease is less visible.
You can now pre-order the Galaxy Z Fold 7 globally from Samsung's e-shop and earn early adopter bonuses. If you want to learn more about the device, make sure you tune in later and subscribe to our YouTube channel for our upcoming reviews.
